Unsure if this is truly a work of the US military or US Department of Defense. The website http://www.stripes.com/photoday/ seems under major overhaul so inaccessible. Tried browsing via archive.org to 2006 (the year when this file was uploaded here on enwiki), went to July (the month of the upload) — such as this — but in vain, the archive.org snapshots for July 2006 only show up a page with the text "Directory Listing Denied - This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed." Thus it is no longer possible to verify if this is truly public domain (as U.S. military work) or not. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 02:02, 9 December 2021 (UTC)

Unsure if this passes {{PD-Iran}}. The cited source http://www.angelfire.com/empire/imperialiran/persepolis41.html does not provide date of the image. No author information too. On top of that this is already unused. May not pass Commons' house rules on licensing. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 02:09, 9 December 2021 (UTC)

The cited source, http://usembassy.state.gov/manila/wwwhamb3.html, is inaccessible or down. Thus it is difficult to verify about the copyright status, if this is truly in public domain or not. If someone is willing to provide the source, then this passes transfer to Commons. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 02:35, 9 December 2021 (UTC)

Dance Again music video

File:Dance Again music video Jennifer Lopez Casper Smart.png (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by George Ho (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

I PRODded the screenshot of Jennifer Lopez and her then-boyfriend Casper Smart going to kiss, assuming that it's neither significant enough nor necessary nor compliant with WP:NFCC#8. However, the screenshot was de-PRODded under assumption of sufficient critical commentary. Rather than debate over the same image, and after the PRODding, I decided to upload two other screenshots: one orgy scene with Lopez in it, other with Lopez and Smart dancing.

If at least one screenshot must be kept, then I would lean toward the one(s) I uploaded and delete the one uploaded by AJ9. The orgy scene may resemble the single cover art used in the infobox, but it also illustrates what critics were concerned about. The dancing scene illustrates another part of critics' concerns but also further what the music video would be about. If I scrap out the orgy scene and use the dance scene, the dance scene alone wouldn't adequately illustrate what most critics were concerned about. On the other hand, if I scrap out the dance scene and use the orgy scene, the orgy scene alone would prove critics' point but would not adequately explain what the music video was actually about.

However, no objections to deleting all the screenshots if there's no consensus to keep any (or all) of them. Indeed, I'm unsure whether at least one of the screenshots would increase understanding of its significance and would be too significant for deletion. I uploaded those screenshots just in case. I'm still concerned about whether most readers will fully understand the music video without a screenshot and will see free content as adequate enough to explain the music video well without one. Nonetheless, I can stand corrected. George Ho (talk) 03:36, 9 December 2021 (UTC)

Initially, I thought that the image would qualify for WP:G5. However, as it turns out, the sockpuppet(eer) wasn't evading a block/ban when the image was uploaded in 2009. Now it's up to me to explain why I'm listing the image.

I have concerns about the authorship of elements within the image (base, image). Warner Bros. has been credited for this poster/image. However, the Sex Pistols have been a British rock band. The band's British record label was Virgin Records and may have likely created (and authorized) one band photo seen on the right side and B&W photo of one of band members. Also, the poster apparently contains a verse or a chorus from one of the band's songs, seen below the band photo.

I have doubts about whether Warner Bros. actually created those elements and/or mixed them together. Sure, Warner Bros. distributed the poster without a copyright notice. However, the elements of the poster are probably British-made and may be copyrighted there. Furthermore, the poster itself is a derivative of original elements that were mixed together for the poster. George Ho (talk) 05:21, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
