It is not one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, but rather intends to describe some aspect(s) of Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. It may reflect varying levels of consensus and vetting.

Discussion is how we get things done – it's vital to do it right!

When involved in discussion:

DO:
Be familiar with the talk guidelines
Sign your messages with "~~~~"
Start conversations under a new heading
Indent replies
Ping involved parties
Be concise
Present evidence

DON'T:
Don't be uncivil or make it personal
Don't edit other's comments
Don't canvass for support elsewhere
Don't go off topic
Don't duplicate discussions
Don't close discussions you are involved in
Don't EVER make legal threats
