The climate in this area has mild differences between highs and lows, and there is adequate rainfall year-round. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Gilze en Rijen has a marine west coast climate, abbreviated "Cfb" on climate maps.[5]

On 24 July 2019, temperatures in Gilze en Rijen reached as high as Template:Cvt, the highest temperature ever recorded in The Netherlands until it was surpassed by Eindhoven the same day.[6][7] However, a day later, on 25 July, temperatures in Gilze en Rijen reached Template:Cvt, making it the first place ever in The Netherlands where Template:Cvt was measured and took away the record back from Eindhoven.[8] Climate change was found to be the culprit of such hot temperatures in Netherlands.[9] Template:Weather box
