Rhome is a city in Wise County, Texas, United States. Its population was 1,630 in 2020.[4]

Rhome has a large, 12-plaque war exhibit located at Veterans Memorial Park, in a residential area east of the downtown.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.7 square miles (12 km2), of which 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) is covered by water.[5]

2020 census

As of the 2020 census, Rhome had a population of 1,630. The median age was 36.5 years; 26.7% of residents were under the age of 18 and 11.8% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 97.1 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 94.8 males age 18 and over.[6]

0.0% of residents lived in urban areas, while 100.0% lived in rural areas.[7]

There were 595 households in Rhome, of which 39.8% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 60.3% were married-couple households, 15.0% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 19.3% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 18.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.[6]

There were 628 housing units, of which 5.3% were vacant. The homeowner vacancy rate was 1.6% and the rental vacancy rate was 9.4%.[6]
