WP:Requests for page protection

This page is for requesting that a page, file or template be protected. Please read up on the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used only to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, the protection is listed in the page history and logs with a short description indicating why it was protected, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. Further discussion should take place on the Talk page of the article. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins do not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism. Note: Editors should not consider requesting page protection as a method for continuing an argument from elsewhere nor as a venue for starting a new discussion regarding article content. If a request contains excessive argument, appears to be intended to resolve a content dispute, includes personal attacks or uncivil comments, or has any other unrelated discussion, it will be removed from this page and no action will be taken.

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Continuous disruptive editing and vandalism from IP editors. ––FormalDude talk 18:13, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
Declined @FormalDude: Sorry but it's hard to see why the edits are vandalism. I'm declining because indefinite protection is very rare and is not going to happen given the article has never been protected. The IPs conceivably could have a COI problem but their point is valid, namely that the short article has a large emphasis on "registered sex offender". I'm not saying I agree with the IPs, just that their edits do not justify semi-protection. You could ask for full protection due to an edit war. If another admin sees this and wants to protect, that's fine by me, but having this tricky case first in the RFPP list slows down dealing with the rest. Johnuniq (talk) 04:15, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
Arkhip Kuindzhi
Reason: Ahistorical replacement of "Russian Empire" and "Russian" with "Ukraine" and "Ukrainian" , along with deletion of refs that would contradict the change. Yes, Ukraine is an independent country now, but it wasn't during the subject's lifetime. Sumanuil 22:58, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
Chadwick Boseman
Reason: Persistent IP vandalism, particularly content removal and deliberately going against policy. Signs IPs are knowledgeable of Wikipedia and so will keep coming back. Kingsif (talk) 00:16, 28 January 2022 (UTC)

Darul Huda Islamic University
Temporary extended confirmed protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Given the POV agendas that have been there with this article and the long-run AfD that noted this, I believe this page should be protected and either type of the people shouldn't be allowed to edit this page normally. If there'd be anything genuine, an edit request could be filed. There's a nice edit-war sort of history associated with this article between "Sabeelul hidaya and Tinkvu" at the least. Reason: This page recently had a page protection due to an IP edit warring and aggressively evading blocks for using multiple accounts. That IP is back with the same edits as can be seen on the edit history. Please protect this page for a longer period this time around as they seem to be keeping the page protection time on track and immediately resumed in the edits right when the page protection expired.
