Keysville is a town in Burke and Jefferson counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the city's population was 300.
History
[edit | edit source]The Georgia General Assembly incorporated Keysville as a town in 1890.[4] In 1933, the government was dissolved although its charter was not revoked.[5] In late 1990, the government was reconstituted.[6]
Geography
[edit | edit source]Keysville is located at 33°14′7″N 82°13′54″W / 33.23528°N 82.23167°W (33.235293, −82.231687),[7] 23 miles (37 km) southwest of downtown Augusta.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km2), of which 0.023 square miles (0.06 km2), or 2.08%, is water.[8]
Demographics
[edit | edit source]Keysville first appeared in the 1930 U.S. Census.[9] It did not appear in the 1960 U.S. census, the 1970 U.S. census, or the 1980 United States census,[10] It reappeared in the 1990 U.S. census.[11]
